LIGHTING & IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES

Tiffany & co.jpeg

Welcome to a realm where metalwork mastery and visionary light design unite, at South Coast Metal Fabrication, we don’t just build structures, we bring them to life.

We are proud to collaborate with Frankie Boyle Studio, the acclaimed lighting artist whose work thrives at the intersection of emotion, science, and perception. Her installations fuse colour theory, physics, and psychological insight to create immersive experiences that invite reflection, stillness, and connection.

But our lighting story doesn’t stop there. At the heart of our design department sits Rob Fung, a seasoned designer and 3D modeller with over a decade of experience in creating large-scale, kinetic, and illuminated artworks. Rob’s background spans CNC machining, laser cutting, welding, robotics, and lighting control right down to the LED chip. His deep technical fluency ensures that every artistic concept is not only visually compelling, but also practical and buildable.

Through the combined strengths of Frankie’s emotive artistry and Rob’s design-engineering expertise, we produce fully immersive installations that transcend traditional fabrication.
The result? Metalwork that doesn’t just occupy space — it breathes, glows, and interacts.

What can a Lighting Designer bring to my project?

Why collaborate with us and our lighting design team?

  • Elevated Aesthetics: Frankie’s lighting design highlights the precision and texture of our metal structures in ways that deepen emotional resonance.

  • Seamless Functionality: Rob ensures that every lighting component is technically sound — energy-efficient, controllable, and architecturally integrated.

  • Creative Synergy: With Frankie’s artistic direction and Rob’s parametric design and 3D modelling, we develop truly bespoke solutions tailored to each project’s unique needs.

  • End-to-End Expertise: From concept sketches to production-ready CAD, every stage is informed by a knowledge of fabrication, fabrication tools, and material behaviour.
