CUSTOM METAL FABRICATION CAPABILITIES

ONE-OFF AND SMALL-BATCH FABRICATION FOR ARCHITECTURAL, COMMERCIAL, ARTISTIC AND DESIGN-LED PROJECTS

Brighton metal fabrication services

SCMF undertakes bespoke metal fabrication from our Brighton workshop, working primarily on one-off and small-batch projects where finish, accuracy or unusual design requirements matter.

We work in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper, producing metalwork for architectural interiors, hospitality and retail environments, artists, designers and commercial clients.

Projects can arrive as finished fabrication drawings or be developed through our Design & Technical Development department before manufacture.

SHEET METAL & FORMED COMPONENTS

Our Brighton workshop is equipped for cutting, folding, rolling and forming sheet metal for bespoke fabrication projects.

In-house equipment includes a 3m guillotine and press brake, alongside sheet-rolling facilities. Where projects require larger-capacity laser cutting, specialist forming or machining, we coordinate these processes through established specialist suppliers.

DECORATIVE & VISIBLE METALWORK

Visible metalwork requires a different approach from ordinary structural fabrication. Weld placement, distortion, dressing and finishing all need to be considered before manufacture begins.

We regularly work with brushed stainless steel, brass, copper, blackened mild steel and other decorative finishes where the fabrication itself forms part of the finished appearance.

DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE

Where a project isn't yet ready for fabrication, our Design & Technical Development department can help resolve geometry, materials, tolerances, fixings and manufacturing strategy before metal is cut.

COMPLEX & ONE-OFF FABRICATION

Some of our best projects don't fit neatly into a standard fabrication category.

SCMF undertakes prototypes, sculptures, installations, unusual display pieces and technically demanding one-off commissions where the fabrication method needs to be developed around the design.

SHEET METAL WORK

We have a guillotine capable of cutting steel up to 6mm thick and 3 meters long, as well as a sheet metal bender that can handle the same dimensions. Our facilities allow us to fabricate and incorporate sheet metal work with ease. Additionally, we can roll steel sheets up to 3mm thick and 1.5 meters wide.

HOT & COLD METAL FORMING

Bespoke fabrication often requires components that cannot be produced directly from standard sections or sheet.

We use a combination of hot and cold forming techniques to develop curves, transitions and non-standard shapes in steel and other metals where conventional folding or rolling alone is not suitable.
