SCMF works with architects, interior designers and contractors to develop and fabricate bespoke architectural metalwork for residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

Working in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper, we translate design intent into buildable metal elements while considering fabrication, finish, installation and long-term use from the outset.

This architect-designed residential project required a series of bespoke blackened-steel elements, including large shelving systems, a double-sided glass vitrine and associated architectural details.

The shelving incorporated freeze-fitted brass locating pins, allowing shelves to be repositioned while maintaining a deliberately minimal appearance.

Because the blackened steel remained fully visible, fabrication marks, scratches, weld distortion and finishing quality all required careful control throughout manufacture and installation.

The completed metalwork was blackened, polished and lacquered before installation on site.
